A 21-gun salute was part of the USS ORLECK'S homecoming celebration on Aug. 12, 2000. The Ukranian tug AKHTIAR towed the ORLECK more than 7,000 miles from Turkey to Orange. Acting XO Tony Norris released the last line when the ORLECK sailed  for Turkey. So he caught the first line when she returned too.
